A shooting following a gang war in Vancouver, Canada has left mobster Maninder Dhaliwal and his friend Satinder Gill dead, according to a report by the Vancouver Sun.

Dhaliwal died at the scene, while Gill succumbed to his injuries at a health center.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed Sunday night that the shooting was linked to the ongoing conflict between gangs in the Lower Mainland.
“Sea-to-Sky Royal Canadian Mounted Police were able to locate and apprehend several individuals,” Sergeant Timothy Pierotti said, adding that a burning vehicle later found in the 3300 block of Ptarmigan Place was linked to the murders.
The incident comes 10 days after the eerily similar murder of Ripudaman Singh Malik, who was acquitted on charges of bombing an Air India plane.
The last two victims were shot in broad daylight while sitting in a car in a public place like Ripudaman Malik and, as in this incident, a car was also found burning nearby, according to media reports. .
The two incidents, however, have not been linked by authorities.
Two people who have not been publicly identified have been arrested in connection with the latest killings, CTV reported citing officials.
But there have been no arrests in Malik’s murder yet.
Dhaliwal, along with his brother Barinder, was on a list of six men, four of whom were of Indian descent, released last year by the Vancouver police department who called them “gangsters” who “pose a significant risk to the public safety”.
Police Chief Adam Palmer warned when posting their photos: “Our police intelligence leads us to believe that the individuals we have identified today may be targeted by members of rival gangs.”
Dhaliwal was a member of a gang known as “Brothers Keeper” (BK), while Gill was not known to be involved in gangs, the Vancouver Sun reported.
Dhaliwal’s brother was killed last year in April, according to the newspaper’s website.
CTV said the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) confirmed that Dhaliwal and Gill were targeted and that the shooting was linked to an ongoing gang dispute in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, which includes Vancouver.
The Sun said the BK had been involved in violent disputes over the years with the gang known as the “United Nations” and with some members of “Red Scorpions”.
He said last year Dhaliwal’s brother Harb was killed outside a restaurant in Vancouver while he and Barinder were with him.
Maninder pursued the shooter, Francoise Gauthier, and stabbed him in the eye, but did not face charges, he added.
Gauthier admitted last month in Canadian court to committing the murder and was sentenced to life in prison, the Sun reported.
